Information for use with the product Nystaderm Mouth Gel: Nystaderm mouth gel is used for nystatin-sensitive yeast infections of the oral cavity (oral thrush). The recommended dose is 1 g of gel 3-6 times a day. The gel is applied to the mouth and left for a few minutes, then swallowed. In newborns and infants, the gel should be administered before and after meals. The duration of treatment should be at least 28 days. Nystaderm oral gel must not be used if there is an allergy to nystatin or other ingredients. In pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, the gel can be used after weighing up the benefits/risks. Side effects are rare but may include itching, redness and blistering. No side effects are expected in case of overdose. The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and must not be used after the expiry date. Nystaderm Oral Gel contains nystatin as the active ingredient and other ingredients such as methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and sucrose. It works by damaging the outer shell of fungi. Important information: Use the medicine only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines or if you notice any side effects. In children and elderly people, the dosage should be done carefully.
