Mode of action

By rubbing the ointment on the chest and back, the high-dose essential oils are absorbed through the respiratory tract as well as the skin and transported to the bronchi.Eucalyptus and pine needle oil stop the urge to cough and loosen thick mucus.Menthol clears the respiratory tract and relieves annoying cold symptoms.

100 g Pinimenthol® cold ointment contains the following active ingredients: 20.00 g eucalyptus oil, 17.78 g pine needle oil and 2.72 g levomenthol.The other ingredients include purified water, white petroleum jelly, microcrystalline hydrocarbons (C40-C60), glycerol monostearate 40-55, heptamethylnonane, glycerol 85%, cetostearyl alcohol (Ph. Eur.), Octyldodecanol (Ph. Eur.),Citric acid-glycerol monooleate-glycerol monostearate-L(+)-6-O-palmitoylascorbic acid-all-rac-α-tocopherol lecithin (2.5:7.5:20:20:25:25) and sodium edetate (Ph. Eur.).

Contraindications

The Pinimenthol® cold ointment must not be used if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in children under 12 years of age, in bronchial asthma, whooping cough and other respiratory diseases with pronounced hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract, in acute inflammation of the respiratory tract and acute pneumonia as well as in the case of a rash or damaged skin.

Dosage

For rubbing: rub or lightly massage a 3 - 4 cm long strand onto the chest and back 2 to 4 times a day.For inhalation: 1 to 3 times a day, place a 5 cm long strand in a suitable container, pour hot water over it and inhale the essential oils for several minutes.

Patient information

Take special care when using the medicine if you inhale it.Because of the risk of scalding, the inhalant should not be reheated after it has cooled down.The ointment must not be used on mucous membranes or around the eyes.Hands should be washed well after use.The preparation is only suitable for external use and inhalation treatment.

Pregnancy

It is not known whether the use of the product has negative effects on pregnancy and breastfeeding.Therefore, this medicine must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Notes

The Pinimenthol® cold ointment can be inhaled.Contact with mucous membranes should be avoided.If symptoms last longer than 3-5 days, if you have shortness of breath, headaches, fever, purulent or bloody sputum or nasal discharge, you should consult a doctor immediately.Because of the risk of scalding, children should not be allowed to inhale unsupervised and their hands should not come into contact with the rubbed areas of skin.
