Directions for use of Nicotinell 7 mg/24-Hour Patch. Nicotinell 7 mg/24-Hour Patch is used to relieve nicotine withdrawal symptoms and to support smoking cessation in nicotine dependence. It is used as monotherapy or in combination with Nicotinell Chewing Gum 2 mg or Nicotinell Lozenges 1 mg. The dosage is based on smoking habits and is gradually adjusted over a period of 9-12 weeks. The patch is applied to the skin daily after getting up and is allowed to remain there for 24 hours. If necessary, the patch thickness can be adjusted. The combination of Nicotinell 24-hour patch with Nicotinell chewing gum 2 mg or Nicotinell lozenges 1 mg is recommended for smokers with moderate to very severe dependence. The duration of use is up to 3 months for monotherapy and up to 6 months for combination therapy. It is recommended that treatment is given in conjunction with support and advice from healthcare professionals. Nicotinell 7 mg/24-hour patch is applied transdermally. It is applied to a healthy, hairless, dry and clean skin area. The patch is slowly peeled off the protective film and stuck on. It is not waterproof but can be left in place when showering. Before use, the package leaflets of Nicotinell Chewing Gum 2 mg and Nicotinell Lozenges 1 mg should be read. In case of overdose or lack of effect of the patch, a doctor should be consulted immediately. Nicotinell 7 mg/24-Hour Patch should be kept out of the reach of children.
