Lamisil cream is a broad-spectrum antifungal used to treat fungal infections of the skin. The active ingredient in the cream, terbinafine hydrochloride, penetrates the affected skin layers, inhibits the multiplication of the fungus and kills it. Indications for use include athlete's foot, fungal skin infections on the thighs and body, fungal infection in the groin area, skin candidiasis and Kleienpilzflechte of the skin. The cream should be applied according to the doctor's or pharmacist's instructions, with the affected areas of skin cleaned and dry beforehand. The recommended dosage varies depending on the type of fungal infection. Hygiene measures should be observed during application and certain age groups and periods of pregnancy and breastfeeding should be taken into account. Possible side effects include skin reactions such as itching, burning, redness and rash. The cream should be kept out of the reach of children and used within the stated shelf life after opening.
