Directions for use of the article Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm Tablets Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm is a vitamin preparation used for the supportive treatment of inflammations of the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat and for the treatment of pantothenic acid deficiencies which cannot be corrected by dietary means, e.g. in chronic dialysis patients and paraesthesia and pain in the toes and soles of the feet caused by pantothenic acid deficiency (burning feet syndrome). The tablets contain the active substance dexpanthenol and must not be taken if there is an allergy to dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients. The dosage is as follows: - Supportive treatment for inflammation of the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat: 1 tablet 3 times daily (corresponding to 300 mg dexpanthenol). - Treatment of pantothenic acid deficiency: 1 tablet daily (corresponding to 100 mg dexpanthenol). The tablets should either melt slowly in the mouth (in the case of inflammation of the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat) or be taken with sufficient liquid (independently of a meal). The duration of use depends on the course of the disease. No special measures are required in case of overdose. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking the product, as the potential risk is not sufficiently known.
