Information for use with the article Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm Tablets: Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm is a vitamin preparation used in adolescents aged 12 years and over and adults. It is used for the supportive treatment of inflammations of the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat and for the treatment of pantothenic acid deficiencies that cannot be remedied by dietary means. This may be the case, for example, in chronic dialysis patients and insensitivity and pain in the toes and soles of the feet caused by pantothenic acid deficiency (burning foot syndrome). The medicine contains sucrose (sugar). It is recommended that you read the package leaflet before use and consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. The dosage and recommended intake are as follows: - Supportive treatment for inflammation of the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat: Take 1 tablet of Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm (corresponding to 300 mg dexpanthenol) 3 times daily. The tablets should be allowed to dissolve slowly in the mouth. - Treatment of pantothenic acid deficiencies (such as burning feet syndrome): 1 tablet of Panthenol 100 mg Jenapharm (corresponding to 100 mg dexpanthenol) daily. The tablets should be taken with sufficient liquid, regardless of a meal. The duration of use depends on the course of the disease. The safety of use in children under 12 years of age has not yet been established. No special measures are required in the event of an overdose. If you have any further questions about taking the medicine, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist. The medicinal product should be kept out of reach of children. It should not be used after the expiry date which is stated on the outer carton and the container. The original packaging should be kept at a temperature of up to 25°C and can be stored for 6 months after opening. In addition to dexpanthenol, the preparation contains other ingredients such as gelatine, glycerol, potato starch, silicon dioxide, talcum, saccharin sodium and sucrose. There are no special warnings and precautions concerning driving and operating machinery. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should ask their doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking the medicine.
