Summary: Zinc oxide ointment LAW, 10% is a skin protectant that is effective in acute and subacute dermatoses. The ointment is applied once to several times a day to the affected skin areas and can be covered with gauze if necessary. The duration of application is not limited and depends on the healing process. The ointment contains the active ingredient zinc oxide and other ingredients such as white vaseline and paraffin. There are some contraindications, such as an allergy to zinc or one of the other ingredients. When used in the genital and anal areas, the safety of condoms may be impaired. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should exercise caution during use. Side effects may include burning, redness, dry skin, rough skin and skin thickening.
