Description

Hepathromb 30,000 is a cream that contains the active ingredient heparin sodium.Heparin is a substance produced by the body that inhibits blood clotting and influences various enzyme reactions.When used externally, heparin has an anti-inflammatory effect, promotes blood circulation and promotes the regression of superficial bruises.This leads to a reduction in tissue tension and associated pain.

Areas of application

Hepathromb 30,000 is used as a supportive treatment for acute swelling following blunt injuries such as bruises, sprains and bruises.These injuries can be caused, for example, by sports or accident injuries.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The cream contains the following active ingredients and excipients: 30,000 IE heparin sodium (from pig intestinal mucosa), allantoin, cetostearyl alcohol (emulsifying, type A), dexpanthenol, glycerol, glycerol monostearate 40-55, white petroleum jelly, purified water, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to heparin sodium, methyl or propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate or any of the other ingredients in the cream.The preparation must also not be used if there is a known allergic reaction with a drop in the blood platelet count (thrombocytopenia type II) due to heparin.

Dosage and application

Apply the cream thinly and evenly to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day.It should not be used for longer than 10 days unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor.There are no known symptoms of an overdose.If you forget to use it, do not use a double dose.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use.The cream should not be applied to open wounds or weeping eczema.If you experience new symptoms that could indicate a thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, such as swelling, warmth, red and tender skin, tightness and pain in the foot, calf and back of the knee, or sudden shortness of breath and chest pain, you should see a doctor immediately.Regular checks of platelet levels are necessary.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Before using this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you are pregnant, breast-feeding, or planning to have a baby.Experience to date has not shown any harmful effects.Heparin does not cross the placenta and does not pass into breast milk.The cream must not be used on the breast area while breastfeeding.

Ability to drive and use machines

There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines.
