Area of application

Optiderm® Cream is used to regulate the moisture in the stratum corneum, for greasing and to relieve itching.It serves as a supportive treatment for skin diseases with dry and/or itchy skin, such as atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), desiccation eczema (drying damage caused by detergents, etc.).It is also suitable for further and follow-up treatment of the skin diseases mentioned.

Mode of action

Optiderm® contains a unique active ingredient combination of urea and polidocanol.Urea is one of the best moisturizing factors and supports the skin's ability to bind water.It is often used as basic therapy for dry skin and is well tolerated as an endogenous substance.In people with neurodermatitis, psoriasis or diabetes, the urea content in the skin is significantly reduced.Optiderm® can compensate for this deficiency.

Polidocanol has a local anesthetic effect on nerve fibers that mediate itching and thus quickly reduces torturous itching.The symptoms often disappear completely within a week.The skin barrier stabilizes and can resume its natural protective function.Optiderm® is characterized by very good tolerability and effectiveness in patients with dry, itchy skin.

100 g cream from Optiderm® Cream contains: 5.0 g urea and 3.0 g macrogol lauryl ether 6.5 (Ph.Eur.) (Polidocanol).Other ingredients are purified water, octyldodecanol (Ph.Eur.), poly(methyl, phenylsiloxane), stearic acid 25, dimeticone, glycerol 85%, thick paraffin, hexadecyl palmitate, polysorbate 40, carbomer 940, benzyl alcohol and trometamol.

Contraindications

Dosage

Recommended use of Optiderm® Cream: Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, Optiderm® Cream is applied evenly thinly to the affected skin areas twice a day.When using it, ensure that the cream does not come into contact with eyes and mucous membranes and do not apply the product to acutely inflamed, weeping or infected skin.The duration of application depends on the clinical picture and is an average of three weeks.If the skin is persistently dry, the Optiderm® cream can be used over a longer period of time.
