Optiderm® - medical help for itching and dry skin

Optiderm® is ideal for daily basic therapy of dry, itchy skin.The products are free of dyes and fragrances.Optiderm® Cream is particularly suitable for itching relief on smaller itchy areas of the body such as the face and hands.The cream is an oil-in-water formulation with 25% lipid content and is quickly absorbed into the skin without leaving an unpleasant film.

Area of application

Optiderm® Cream is used to regulate the moisture in the stratum corneum, lubricate it and relieve itching.It serves as a supportive treatment for skin diseases with dry and/or itchy skin, such as atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), exsiccation eczema (drying damage caused by detergents, etc.), as well as for further and follow-up treatment of these skin diseases.

Mode of action

Optiderm® contains a unique combination of the active ingredients urea and polidocanol.Urea is one of the best moisturizing factors and supports the skin's ability to bind water.It is often used as basic therapy for dry skin and is well tolerated as an endogenous substance.In people with neurodermatitis, psoriasis or diabetes, the urea content in the skin is often reduced, and Optiderm® can compensate for this deficiency.

Polidocanol has a local anesthetic effect on nerve fibers that mediate itching and thus quickly relieves the torturous itching.The symptoms often disappear completely within a week.The skin barrier stabilizes and can resume its natural protective function.Optiderm® is a cortisone-free alternative for itching.

100 g cream from Optiderm® Cream contains: 5.0 g urea and 3.0 g macrogol lauryl ether 6.5 (Ph.Eur.) (Polidocanol).Other ingredients are purified water, octyldodecanol (Ph.Eur.), poly(methyl, phenylsiloxane), stearic acid 25, dimeticone, glycerol 85%, thick paraffin, hexadecyl palmitate, polysorbate 40, carbomer 940, benzyl alcohol and trometamol.

Contraindications

Dosage

Optiderm® Cream is applied evenly and thinly to the affected skin areas twice a day.Make sure that the cream does not come into contact with eyes and mucous membranes and do not apply the product to acutely inflamed, weeping or infected skin.The duration of application depends on the clinical picture and is an average of three weeks.If the skin is persistently dry, the cream can be used over a longer period of time.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.There are no known risks when using Optiderm® during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.If you are breastfeeding, please do not use the cream on the breast area to prevent the product from getting into the baby's mouth or lips.
