Area of application

Optiderm® Cream is used to regulate the moisture in the stratum corneum, lubricate it and relieve itching.It is used as a supportive treatment for skin diseases with dry and/or itchy skin, such as atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), exsiccation eczema (drying damage caused by detergents, etc.), as well as for further and follow-up treatment of the skin diseases mentioned.

Mode of action

Optiderm® is the only medicine that contains a combination of the active ingredients urea and polidocanol.It nourishes the skin and provides intensive moisture.Urea is one of the best moisturizing factors and supports the skin's ability to bind water.It is often used as basic therapy for dry skin.As a natural substance, urea is also well tolerated.The urea content in the skin is significantly reduced, especially in people with neurodermatitis, psoriasis or diabetes.Optiderm® can compensate for this deficiency.

Polidocanol has a local anesthetic effect on nerve fibers that mediate itching and thus quickly relieves the tormenting itch.The symptoms often disappear completely within a week.The skin barrier stabilizes and can resume its natural protective function.Optiderm® is a cortisone-free alternative for itching with urea and polidocanol.

Contraindications

Dosage

Recommended use of Optiderm® Cream: Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, Optiderm® Cream is applied evenly thinly to the affected skin areas twice a day.When using it, ensure that the cream does not come into contact with eyes and mucous membranes and do not apply the product to acutely inflamed, weeping or infected skin.The duration of application depends on the clinical picture and is an average of three weeks.If the skin is persistently dry, the Optiderm® cream can be used over a longer period of time.

Contains: benzyl alcohol.Benzyl alcohol can cause mild local irritation.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
