Active ingredients and ingredients

Each enteric-coated tablet of Bekunis Dragees Bisacodyl 5mg contains the active ingredient bisacodyl in a dosage of 5 mg.The following excipients are also included: magnesium stearate, talc, microcrystalline cellulose, macrogol 6000, lactose monohydrate, poly(ethyl acrylate-co-methacrylic acid)(1:1), higher chain partial glycerides, sucrose (sucrose), spray-dried arabic gum, calcium carbonate, polysorbate 80, titanium dioxide, stearic acid and dextrin.

Contraindications

Bekunis Dragees Bisacodyl 5mg must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or one of the other ingredients, ileus, intestinal obstruction, acute diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, abdominal pain associated with nausea or vomiting, children under 2 years of age and water and electrolyte imbalances.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the tablets should only be used after medical advice.During pregnancy they must not be taken in high doses or over a longer period of time.Due to insufficient information about the passage into breast milk, use during breastfeeding is not recommended.

Dosage and intake

The dosage should be according to the recommendations in the package leaflet.Adults and children over 10 years can take 1 to 2 tablets, children over 2 years can take 1 tablet.The dragees should be taken whole in the evening or morning on an empty stomach with plenty of liquid.Taking it in the evening leads to bowel emptying after around 10 hours, taking it in the morning on an empty stomach after around 6 hours.They should not be taken with milk or milk products or products that increase stomach pH as this may reduce their effectiveness.
