Hedelix Cough Syrup is a herbal medicinal product used to treat colds of the respiratory tract and to relieve symptoms of chronic inflammatory bronchial diseases. It contains an extract of ivy leaves as the active substance. The cough syrup should be used as prescribed and according to the instructions. The dosage varies according to age. Children over one year of age and adults take five millilitres three times a day, while babies under one year of age are given 2.5 millilitres once a day. The cough syrup is taken undiluted and can be washed down with sufficient liquid. An overdose can lead to inflammation of the mucous membranes in the gastrointestinal tract. If you experience side effects or are unsure about its use, you should contact a doctor or pharmacist. Hedelix cough syrup must not be taken if you are allergic to ivy leaves or any of the other ingredients of the medicine. Pregnant and breast-feeding women should not use the medicine unless it has been specifically recommended by a doctor. Possible side effects are gastrointestinal complaints.
