Methocel 2% eye drops, 30 g

Description

Methocel 2%, eye drops are a solution that was specially developed for contact lens examinations of the eye.The product is manufactured under aseptic conditions, is autoclaved and filled under sterile conditions.

Properties

Methocel is a highly viscous, colorless and transparent solution consisting of hypromellose.This solution is isotonic to tears, meaning it has the same salt concentration as the eye's natural tears.A very pure quality of hypromellose is used for production to ensure consistent viscosity.

Indications

The solution serves as a contact liquid during examination or treatment of the eye, for example during gonioscopy, funduscopy or argon laser trabeculoplasty, using contact lenses.

Application instructions

Before each use, the concave part of the contact glass should be thoroughly cleaned and treated with a suitable disinfectant.Apply 1-2 drops of the solution to the concave part of the contact lens and use on the eye in the usual way.When removing the contact glass, you should tilt the angle of the glass to avoid possible suction.The eye should then be examined for epithelial integrity using the slit lamp.

The use of contact lenses is only recommended for trained eye specialists.

Application restrictions

Methocel 2%, eye drops should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Side effects

Occasionally, temporary redness or swelling of the conjunctiva may occur after using contact lenses wetted with Methocel.

Storage

The product should not be used after the expiry date printed on the outer packaging.After use, the cap should be replaced and the bottle should be protected from light by placing it back in the outer carton.Storage should take place at temperatures between 5-25°C.After first opening, the product may only be used within 3 months.

The use of Methocel is made easier if the bottle is stored upside down using the stand cap.

Warnings

Keep out of the reach of children.The product is for external use only and is not suitable for intraocular use.

Packaging

The solution is available in a 10 g polyethylene plastic dropper bottle.

Composition

The eye drops consist of hypromellose, benzalkonium chloride (preservative) 0.1 mg/g, boric acid, trometamol and water for injections.
