Directions for use of the article Megalac Almasilate mint 1 g/10 ml suspension. Megalac Almasilate mint is an antacid used for the symptomatic treatment of conditions in which stomach acid needs to be bound. These conditions include stomach and duodenal ulcers, heartburn and acid-related stomach complaints. The dosage for adolescents 12 years and older and adults is 1 sachet 1-4 times daily, 1-2 hours after meals and before bedtime. The duration of use should not exceed 2 weeks unless recommended by a doctor. Contraindications are hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the medicinal product and phosphate deficiency. In case of impaired kidney function, a doctor should be consulted before using the medicinal product. During pregnancy and breast-feeding, you should ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice on whether the medicinal product can be used. Side effects are rare and may include hypersensitivity reactions and gastrointestinal discomfort such as mushy stools, constipation, flatulence and bloating.
