Heparin ratiopharm sports gel - for sports and accident injuries
Heparin-ratiopharm Sport-Gel is a medicine that is used to support the treatment of acute swelling following blunt injuries such as bruises and bruises.It can also be used for superficial phlebitis if it cannot be treated with compression.No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The gel contains 60,000 IE heparin sodium, which is obtained from porcine intestinal mucosa.Excipients include carbomer 980, isopropyl alcohol, mountain pine oil, d-limonene, PEG (36) castor oil, rosemary oil, citral, citronellol, coumarin, eugenol, geraniol, linalool, trometamol and purified water.Rosemary oil also contains citral, citronellol, coumarin, eugenol, geraniol, D-limonene and linalool.
Area of application
Heparin-ratiopharm Sport-Gel is used to reduce swelling.It supports the treatment of acute swelling following blunt injuries as well as superficial phlebitis if this cannot be treated with compression.
Contraindications
The gel must not be used if you are allergic to heparin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The gel should also not be used if there is an acute or known allergic drop in the number of blood platelets (thrombocytopenia type II) caused by heparin.
Dosage and application
The gel should be applied thinly and evenly to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day.It should not be used for longer than 10 days unless otherwise prescribed.When used as directed, there are no known symptoms of overdose.
Patient information
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this gel.The gel must not be applied to mucous membranes, open or inflamed areas of skin or come into contact with the eyes as it may cause a burning sensation.If new symptoms appear that may indicate thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, the presence of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia type II must be ruled out and the platelet count must be checked immediately.
There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Previous experience with use in pregnant and breastfeeding women has shown no evidence of harmful effects.Heparin does not cross the placenta and does not pass into breast milk.
Notes
Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
Other
One of the first treatment measures for superficial phlebitis of the lower limbs is pressure treatment.Because of the alcohol content, the gel should not be applied to mucous membranes, open or inflamed areas of skin, or come into contact with the eyes, as a burning sensation may occur.
