Area of application

This medicine contains the active ingredient crotamiton, which is used to treat scabies caused by the scabies mite (Scabies scabiei).It is applied externally to the skin and is suitable for the treatment of adults and children.

The active ingredient in this preparation is crotamiton.The emulsion contains 100 mg of crotamiton per 100 mg.The following excipients are also included: Carbomer 980, cetyl alcohol, isopropyl myristate, macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, sodium hydroxide, arnica perfume oil (212924) with various fragrances, benzyl alcohol, benzyl benzoate, benzyl salicylate, citral, citronellol, coumarin, D-limonene, eugenol, farnesol, geraniol,alpha-hexylcinnamaldehyde, isoeugenol, lilial, linalool, propylene glycol and purified water.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to crotamiton or any of the other ingredients of the product.It should also not be used if you have an acute, weeping skin rash (acute exudative dermatitis).

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for adults and children aged 3 years and over is to apply the product thinly to the entire body once a day for three to five consecutive days and do not wash it off.Children under 3 years of age, infants and newborns should also apply the medicine thinly to the entire body including the head once a day for three to five consecutive days and do not wash it off.For children under 3 years of age, use should be carried out under medical supervision.Infants should be treated in hospital and, if necessary, even small children if reliable treatment does not seem possible otherwise.

Close contacts must be carefully identified.If treatment of symptom-free close contacts is medically indicated, they should be treated at the same time as the sick person.

If you have used more than you should, you can easily remove excess emulsion with water.If you have accidentally used the medicine several times a day or if you have accidentally swallowed the emulsion, you should consult your doctor.

No prescription is required for this product.

Intake

The emulsion is intended for use on the skin.

Patient information

Make sure that the preparation does not come into contact with the conjunctiva.Mucous membranes (mouth, nose) must be avoided when applying.The medicine should be washed off with water after accidental application to mucous membranes.

At the first signs of a hypersensitivity reaction, you should stop using the product.Consult your doctor so that he can decide on any further measures that may be necessary.

Children under 3 years of age are at greater risk of side effects due to increased body surface area to body weight ratio and possible licking of skin areas.If the skin has changed like eczema or is scratched, it can be expected that more of the active ingredient will enter the body through the skin.For children under 3 years of age, use should be carried out under medical supervision.Infants should be treated in hospital and, if necessary, even small children if reliable treatment does not seem possible otherwise.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine.
