Instructions for use of the article CROTAMITEX Crotamitex is an emulsion containing 10 % crotamiton and is used for the treatment of scabies (scabies). It contains the active ingredient crotamiton, which is effective against the scabies mite (scabies scabiei). Before using Crotamitex, some points should be considered. It must not be used if you are allergic to crotamiton or other components of the medicine, or if you have an acute, weeping skin rash. It is applied once a day for a period of three to five consecutive days. The medicine is applied thinly to the whole body and not washed off. In children under 3 years of age, the application should be done under medical supervision. Possible side effects may include itching, contact dermatitis and hypersensitivity reactions. An overdose is not known. However, in case of accidental swallowing of larger amounts, a doctor should be consulted. Crotamitex should be stored at room temperature and out of reach of children. After opening, the medicinal product should be used within 6 months. In addition, Crotamitex contains benzyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, propylene glycol and a fragrance with allergens. The pack size is either 100 ml or a bundle pack of 200 ml (2 x 100 ml).
