Mucofalk Orange Granules is a medicine for the treatment of prolonged constipation, diseases in which easier bowel emptying with soft stools is desired, such as tears in the mucous membrane of the anus, haemorrhoids, painful defecation after operations in the rectal area, diarrhoea of various causes for supportive treatment and diseases in which an increase in daily fibre intake is desired, such as irritable bowel syndrome. It contains ground Indian psyllium husks as the active ingredient. Mucofalk Orange must not be taken if you are allergic to psyllium or any of the ingredients of the medicinal product, if a change in bowel habits is noted, if you do not have a bowel movement after taking a laxative, if you have dysphagia or other problems with the throat and pharynx, if you have unclear abdominal complaints, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, or if you have been diagnosed with a pathological narrowing in the gastrointestinal tract, a disease of the oesophagus or the entrance to the stomach, intestinal obstruction, intestinal paralysis or pathological enlargement of the colon. Mucofalk Orange should be taken with plenty of liquid and may interact with certain medicines. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should only take Mucofalk Orange after consulting their doctor. Side effects such as flatulence and bloating may occur. In case of hypersensitivity reactions, the medicine should not be taken again.
