Vitamin B6 Hevert tablets contain the active substance pyridoxine hydrochloride. This medicine is used to treat peripheral neuropathy (nerve inflammation) due to vitamin B6 deficiency caused by taking medicines such as isoniazid, D-penicillamine or cycloserine. It is also used to treat pyridoxine-dependent disorders such as primary hyperoxaluria type I, homocystinuria, cystathioninuria and xanthurenuria, and rare haematopoietic disorders such as sideroblastic anaemia and hypochromic microcytic anaemia. In children over 1 year of age, it is also used to treat the above disorders, as well as for maintenance therapy after vitamin B6 deficiency-induced convulsions in newborns and infants. The dosage is determined individually by the attending physician and depends on the underlying disease. It is recommended to take the tablets unchewed with sufficient liquid. The duration of use should be agreed with the doctor. Possible side effects may include sensory disturbances, skin reactions, nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort. Overdoses may occur, which may have neurotoxic effects. Pregnant women and nursing mothers should consult their doctor before use. The medicinal product should be kept out of the reach of children and protected from light.
