Areas of application
The Octenilin wound irrigation solution is ideal for cleaning and moistening chronic wounds.It enables quick and effective wound cleaning and helps to remove wound plaque from necrotic tissue, biofilm and fibrin deposits.It can also be used to clean entry ports for PEG/PEJ tubes or drainage tubes.The solution is also suitable for gently removing encrusted bandages and wound dressings that are difficult to remove.
Ingredients
The Octenilin wound irrigation solution contains the following ingredients: Aqua valde purificata, glycerol, ethylhexylglycerin and octenidine HCl.
Contraindications
If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, the product should not be used.No prescription is required for this product.
Dosage and application
Every time the dressing is changed, the wound should be rinsed and cleaned intensively with the Octenilin wound irrigation solution.The solution can be warmed to body temperature before use.Easily removable wound deposits can be removed in this way.To dissolve fibrin deposits, bandages or wound dressings soaked in the solution can also be used.Rinsing is not necessary.If necessary, the wound can then be further treated with Octenilin wound gel.The solution must not be applied to body cavities when used in combination with a negative pressure therapy device.
Patient information
For dressings that are difficult to remove, it is recommended to moisten or soak the wound dressings with the Octenilin wound irrigation solution until the dressings can be removed gently without traumatizing the wound surfaces.The solution must not be used on hyaline cartilage, the eyes, the ear, the nose, the urinary bladder and the abdominal cavity.

The Octenilin wound irrigation solution has a shelf life of 8 weeks after opening.General safety instructions include: Do not use for infusion or injection, do not ingest, only for external use on skin wounds, only use perfect and undamaged containers, protect from direct sunlight and keep away from children.To avoid the spread of germs, care should be taken to ensure that the packaging does not come into contact with the wound.

Special Notes
No side effects have been observed so far.Since allergies can never be ruled out, the Octenilin wound irrigation solution should not be used if you have known allergies or are suspected of having an allergy to one of the ingredients.It must not be used on hyaline cartilage.
