Instructions for use of the article Rheumamed Pain Relief Ointment Capsicum: The pain relief ointment contains cayenne pepper extract as the active ingredient and is used externally. It is suitable for the treatment of muscle pain, especially in the shoulder-arm area and in the area of the spine. In acute conditions with redness, swelling or overheating of joints, long-lasting joint pain or severe back pain radiating into the arms and legs and/or associated neurological deficits such as numbness or tingling, a doctor should be consulted. The ointment should be applied thinly to the affected areas and used up to 4 times a day. However, it should not be used for more than 3 weeks and there should be a break of 14 days before reapplication to the same site. The ointment should be stored at a temperature below 25°C and has a shelf life of 3 years. The package leaflet contains further important information on risks and side effects. It should be noted that use is not recommended in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, open injuries, skin inflammations and eczema, as well as in children under 12 years of age, pregnancy and lactation. A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before use. Side effects such as skin irritation may occur.
