Uzara 40 mg is a herbal medicinal product used for the treatment of non-specific acute diarrhoea. It contains 40 mg dry extract of Uzara root. However, a doctor should be consulted for diarrhoea that lasts longer than 2 days and is accompanied by blood inclusions or temperature increases. The dosage for adults and children aged 12 years and over is 5 coated tablets on the 1st day of treatment and 1 coated tablet 3-6 times a day on the following days. For children aged 6 to 11 years, the dosage is 1 coated tablet 3 times daily on the 1st day of treatment and 1 coated tablet 2-3 times daily on subsequent days. The maximum daily dose must not be exceeded. Uzara is well tolerated and acts gently and quickly against diarrhoea. It is recommended to take the medicine with sufficient liquid and to use it until the symptoms have subsided, but for a maximum of 7 days. People with hypersensitivity to certain ingredients should not use Uzara. Possible side effects are gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea and vomiting. Pregnant women and nursing mothers should not use Uzara. Storage should be below 30 °C and the medicine should not be used after the expiry date. Care should also be taken that Uzara contains glucose, lactose, sucrose and wheat starch. A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before using other medicines.
