Ginkobil® ratiopharm 120 mg film-coated tablets contain a high-quality extract of Ginkgo biloba.This promotes blood flow to the brain cells and supplies the brain with nutrients, which naturally improves the metabolism in the brain.The nerve cells are also protected from harmful free radicals.In this way you can strengthen your memory and concentration and participate fully in life.The tablets are comfortable to take due to their small size and are also suitable for people who have difficulty swallowing.

Areas of application

Ginkobil® ratiopharm 120 mg film-coated tablets are used for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders, to extend the pain-free walking distance in peripheral arterial disease as well as for dizziness and for the supportive treatment of ringing in the ears.

1 Film-coated tablet contains:

Active ingredient: 120 mg dry extract from Ginkgo biloba leaves (35 - 67:1), extractant: acetone 60% (m/m).

Other ingredients: Croscarmellose sodium, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 1500, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.), corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, simeticon-alpha-hydro-omega-octadecyloxypoly (oxyethylene)-5-sorbic acid (Ph. Eur.) water, talc,Titanium dioxide, iron (III) oxide.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to Ginkgo biloba or any of the other ingredients or if you are pregnant.

Dosage

Recommended use of Ginkobil® ratiopharm 120 mg film-coated tablets:

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

For the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders, adults aged 18 and over should take 1 tablet twice a day.The duration of treatment should be at least 8 weeks.After a treatment period of 3 months, the doctor must check whether continued treatment is still justified.

To extend pain-free walking distance with peripheral arterial disease, adults aged 18 and over should take 1 tablet once or twice daily.The improvement in walking distance requires a treatment period of at least 6 weeks.

For dizziness and to support the treatment of ringing in the ears, adults aged 18 and over should take 1 tablet once or twice a day.Use for dizziness over a period longer than 6 to 8 weeks does not improve the treatment result.Supportive treatment for ringing in the ears should be carried out over a period of at least 12 weeks.If there is no success after 6 months, this can no longer be expected even with longer treatment.

Children and adolescents: This medicine is not intended for use in people under 18 years of age.

Intake

To be taken.It is taken twice a day in the morning and evening, and once a day in the morning.Do not take tablets while lying down.Please take the tablets whole with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water).It can be taken regardless of meals.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the drug.In the case of a pathologically increased tendency to bleeding or simultaneous treatment with anticoagulant medicines, the medicine should only be used after consulting a doctor.Since there is evidence that preparations containing ginkgo could increase the risk of bleeding, the drug should be discontinued before surgery as a precaution.Please inform your doctor in good time if you have taken the medicine.If you have a known seizure disorder (epilepsy), please consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Pregnancy

Since there is evidence that preparations containing ginkgo could increase the risk of bleeding, this medicine must not be taken during pregnancy.This medicine should not be used during breastfeeding as there are no sufficient studies. It is not known whether the ingredients of the extract pass into breast milk.
