Instructions for use for Aspirin Protect 100 mg gastro-resistant tablets, 42 pcs
Areas of application
The product is used as part of standard therapy to treat acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) and to prevent recurrent myocardial infarction. It is also used to treat unstable angina pectoris. In addition, its use is indicated for the prevention of cerebral infarction and transient ischemic attacks (TIA) after the occurrence of precursor stages and after arterial vascular surgery or interventional procedures. If Kawasaki syndrome is diagnosed, it is used to inhibit inflammation during the febrile phase and for prophylactic antiplatelet aggregation in coronary artery aneurysms.
Mode of action
The active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid inhibits cyclooxygenase and irreversibly prevents platelet aggregation. This improves the flow properties of the blood, which prevents vascular blockages. The tablets have a special coating that only releases the active ingredient in the small intestine and thus improves stomach tolerance.
Active ingredients and ingredients
One tablet contains 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid as an active ingredient.Other ingredients include Eudragit[R]L 30 D-55, talc, triethyl citrate, cellulose powder, corn starch, polysorbate 80 and sodium dodecyl sulfate.
Contraindications
The product should not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, acute stomach and intestinal ulcers, pathologically increased bleeding tendency, liver and kidney failure, severe, uncontrolled heart muscle weakness, allergic reactions and asthma attacks when taking salicylates or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and in combination with methotrexate 15 mg or more per week.
Particular caution and medical supervision are required in the event of hypersensitivity to other anti-inflammatory drugs, existing allergies, asthma, hay fever, swollen nasal mucosa, chronic respiratory diseases, simultaneous therapy with anticoagulants, stomach or intestinal ulcers or stomach or intestinal bleeding in the past, oxalate urolithiasis, iron storage diseases, impaired liver and kidney function, patients with cerebral hemorrhages, patients with gout and before operations.
The use is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as in children under 12 years of age and in children and adolescents with febrile symptoms of illness.

The enteric-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid before a meal.To treat an acute heart attack, the first tablet should be bitten. The product is intended for long-term use as directed by a doctor.
Intake
Please take the tablets whole, preferably before a meal, with plenty of liquid. To treat an acute heart attack, the first tablet should be bitten or chewed.
Patient information
At low doses, acetylsalicylic acid can reduce uric acid excretion, which can trigger a gout attack in at-risk patients. If there is an injury, it may take longer for bleeding to stop.Longer use or higher doses should not be undertaken without medical advice. In children and adolescents with feverish illnesses, the medicine should only be used on medical advice. No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children.
Pregnancy
If you are diagnosed with pregnancy while taking this medication, you should notify your doctor immediately. In the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, the medicine may only be taken on the doctor's orders. In the last three months of pregnancy, acetylsalicylic acid should be avoided at a dosage of more than 150 mg per day.Breastfeeding mothers should stop breastfeeding when taking higher doses.
Notes
No prescription is required for this product. It is suitable for the daily prevention of heart attacks and strokes by inhibiting the clumping of blood platelets and thereby preventing the formation of blood clots. The enteric coating of the tablet prevents direct contact of the acetylsalicylic acid with the sensitive gastric mucosa, which means that the tablets are only dissolved in the small intestine and the gastric mucosa is protected.
The product is not suitable for treating pain conditions.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
