Instructions for use for Aspirin Protect 100 mg gastro-resistant tablets, 98 pcs
Prevent a heart attack or stroke with Aspirin protect
Aspirin protect helps you prevent another heart attack or stroke if you have already suffered one.The active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid in increased doses inhibits the clumping of blood platelets and thus prevents the formation of blood clots. This promotes arterial blood flow and reduces the risk of further cardiovascular diseases.
Areas of application of Aspirin protect
Aspirin protect is used in various situations, including circulatory disorders, heart pain due to unstable angina, acute heart attack, after surgery on arterial blood vessels, as well as to prevent temporary insufficient blood flow to the brain and precursor stages of a cerebral infarction. It is also used in the treatment of Kawasaki syndrome to reduce inflammation and prevent blood clots in coronary artery aneurysms.
Good tolerance when taken daily
Aspirin protect consists of enteric-coated tablets that should be taken whole with plenty of liquid, preferably before meals. These tablets are gentle on the stomach, very well tolerated and therefore suitable for long-term use.Long-term, daily intake is recommended.
Mode of action
Acetylsalicylic acid, the active ingredient in Aspirin protect, inhibits cyclooxygenase and irreversibly prevents platelet aggregation. This improves the flow properties of the blood and prevents the formation of vascular blockages. The special coating of the tablets ensures that the active ingredient is only released in the small intestine, which significantly improves stomach tolerance.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
One Aspirin protect 100mg tablet contains 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid as an active ingredient.Other ingredients include: Eudragit[R]L 30 D-55, talc, triethyl citrate, cellulose powder, corn starch, polysorbate 80 and sodium dodecyl sulfate.

Dosage
Aspirin protect 100mg should be taken exactly as directed by a doctor.A daily dose of 1 tablet is recommended for unstable angina pectoris and to prevent temporary insufficient blood flow in the brain as well as after operations or other interventions on arterial blood vessels. To prevent another heart attack, 3 tablets can be taken daily. In the event of an acute heart attack, the first tablet should be bitten.
The enteric-resistant tablets should be taken whole with plenty of liquid (water) before a meal.To treat an acute heart attack, the first tablet should be bitten.Aspirin protect 100mg is intended for long-term use as directed by a doctor.
Intake
Please take the tablets whole, preferably before a meal, with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water). To treat an acute heart attack, the first tablet should be bitten or chewed.
Patient information
In low doses, acetylsalicylic acid reduces uric acid excretion. In patients at risk, this can potentially trigger a gout attack. If you cut or injure yourself, it may take a little longer than usual for any bleeding to stop. This is related to the effect of the drug.Minor cuts and injuries (e.g. B. when shaving) are usually of no importance. If you have any unusual bleeding (from an unusual location or of unusual duration), contact your doctor.Medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid should not be used for a longer period of time or in higher doses without consulting your doctor.
Children and adolescents: The medicine should only be used in children and adolescents with febrile illnesses on medical instructions and only if other measures do not work.If these illnesses cause prolonged vomiting, it may be a sign of Reye's syndrome, a very rare but life-threatening disease that requires immediate medical attention.
Driving and using machines: No special precautions are required.Store drug out of reach of children.
Pregnancy
Pregnancy: If you become pregnant while taking this medicine, please notify your doctor immediately. In the first and second trimesters of pregnancy you may only take the medicine if your doctor tells you to.In the last three months of pregnancy, you cannot take acetylsalicylic acid, the active ingredient of the drug, in a dosage of more than 150 mg per day due to an increased risk of complications for the mother and child before and during childbirth. You may only take acetylsalicylic acid up to 150 mg per day in the last trimester of pregnancy if your doctor orders it.
Breastfeeding: The active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities.Since adverse consequences for the infant have not yet been reported, interruption of breastfeeding will generally not be necessary when using a daily dose of up to 150 mg.If higher doses are taken (over 150 mg daily dose), breastfeeding should be discontinued.
