Mode of action

The active ingredient hydrotalcite in Talcid Liquid binds and neutralizes stomach acid as well as pepsin and bile acids.Aluminum and magnesium form poorly soluble salts that are excreted in the stool.This helps relieve heartburn, belching, and other acid-related stomach problems.In addition, the risk of ulcers in the gastrointestinal area due to hyperacidity is reduced.Talcid Liquid also protects the stomach lining.

Dosage

Adults and children aged 12 and over can take one sachet of Talcid Liquid several times a day if necessary.To do this, the bag is torn open at the marking, brought to the mouth and squeezed out.The daily dose should not be more than 6 sachets.Talcid Liquid should be taken between meals and before bed.Other medicines should be taken 1-2 hours apart.The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease.If symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks, a doctor should be consulted.

Patient information

Pregnancy

Talcid Liquid should only be used during pregnancy after medical consultation and for a short period of time to avoid aluminum exposure to the child.Aluminum compounds pass into breast milk, but there is no risk to the newborn.There are no specific studies on children whose mothers took hydrotalcite during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
