Instructions for use of the article Posterine suppositories Important information (obligatory data): Posterine® suppositories. Active substance: fluid extract of witch hazel leaves (1 : 2), extraction agent: ethanol 60 % (V/V). Indications: for the relief of itching, oozing and burning in the early stages of haemorrhoidal disorders; inflammation of the mucous membranes in the anal region. Product properties: What are Posterine suppositories and what are they used for? Posterine suppositories are a herbal haemorrhoid remedy and are used to relieve itching, oozing and burning in the early stages of haemorrhoidal disease and anal mucositis. How should Posterine suppositories be used? Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is: Posterine suppositories are usually used 2 times a day. If the symptoms are more severe, the suppositories can be used 3 times a day at times. The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease and is usually determined by the doctor. In principle, Posterine suppositories can be used until the symptoms have subsided or for a few days longer. Self-treatment without consulting a doctor should not exceed a period of 4 weeks. Method of use: The suppositories are inserted deeply into the anus in the morning and evening, if possible after defecation. Suppository removal: To use the suppositories, please tear or cut the aluminium foil from the tip in the direction of the arrow along the suppository so that it can be easily removed. Notice: As the application of creams, ointments and suppositories in the anal area can cause soiling of the underwear, an anal pad is recommended as underwear protection. How should Posterine suppositories be stored? Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and suppository foil after "Use by". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated. Do not store above 25 °C. Never dispose of medicines in the waste water (e.g. not down the toilet or sink). Ask your pharmacy how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. The other ingredients are: Glycerol monooleate, hard fat, microcrystalline hydrocarbons, polyglycerol poly(12-hydroxystearate), highly dispersed hydrophobic silicon dioxide, all-rac-aTocopherol.
