Hametum haemorrhoid ointment is a herbal medicine for improving the symptoms in the early stages of haemorrhoidal disease. The ointment contains an extract from fresh leaves and twigs of witch hazel, also known as witch hazel. This herbal active ingredient inhibits inflammation, relieves itching and burning and cares for the irritated skin. The ointment can be applied thinly to the affected skin area several times a day. Before application, the anal area should be thoroughly cleaned and dried. The ointment can be applied with a finger or the enclosed applicator. In case of prolonged or regularly recurring complaints, a doctor should be consulted.
