Instructions for use for POSTERISAN Acute ointment, 25 g

Posterisan akut ointment contains the active ingredient lidocaine and is used to relieve pain and itching in the anal area before proctological examination. The ointment should be applied thinly to the skin and mucous membrane areas to be treated and rubbed in gently. The recommended dose is usually 2 to 3 times daily. It is important not to exceed the treatment duration of 3 days. The ointment should not be used if you are allergic to lidocaine or any of the other ingredients. If side effects occur or symptoms persist after 3 days, a doctor should be consulted. The ointment may cause itching and burning in the anal area. Other side effects may include diarrhoea, mild pain and redness in the anal area. If pregnant or breastfeeding, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before use. The ointment should be stored out of the reach of children at room temperature. The package leaflet should be read carefully before use.
