Hametum haemorrhoid suppositories are a herbal medicine for the treatment of symptoms such as itching, burning and slight bleeding in the early stages of haemorrhoids. The suppositories contain an extract of witch hazel leaves, which has an anti-inflammatory and anti-itching effect. They are applied rectally, twice a day after defecation. The duration of treatment should not exceed four weeks and use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is only recommended after consulting a doctor. Children under 12 years of age should not use the medicine. Side effects are rare and usually well tolerated. Excessive dosage is not known. The package leaflet should be read before use and a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted if there is any uncertainty. The medicinal product should be stored at room temperature and protected from heat.
