Instructions for use of the article Tegaderm Foam Adhesive FK 14,3x15,6cm Oval Tegaderm Foam Adhesive FK 14.3x15.6cm Oval is a foam dressing with a thinner adhesive edge that allows a perfect fit even in hard-to-reach areas. It is suitable for low to high exuding wounds and offers intelligent exudate management to reduce maceration or wound drying. The dressing has a hydrophilic adhesive that adheres securely even in moist skin conditions. It is particularly suitable for use on the heel, forefoot, toe and sacrum. Tegaderm Foam Adhesive provides reliable hold and fit even on exposed areas of the body. With the patented spoke application system, the dressing can be applied effortlessly with just one hand. It can be worn for up to 7 days. The dressing is suitable for various types of wounds such as leg ulcers, decubital ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome, burns, split skin sites, lacerations and abrasions as well as neuropathic ulcers. For application to the heel, the dressing is held by the adhesive-free tabs and placed in the centre of the palm. The dressing is positioned under the wound and applied to the heel. The paper spokes are removed and the dressing can either be overstretched horizontally to the skin or carefully removed. The oval foam dressing Tegaderm Foam Adhesive Minis is suitable for the treatment of small ulcers. It can also be applied to prominent areas of the body such as the toe, foot, nose, elbow and chin. The mini size makes it easy to apply to difficult-to-treat areas such as finger amputations. Some application instructions are given, such as choosing a dressing that overlaps the intact skin by about 2.5 cm, observing the wound for signs of infection and using the foam dressing as an absorbent secondary dressing over wound fillers such as alginates. The dressing should be changed when exudate is clearly visible under the backing film at the dressing edge or the dressing becomes loose, but no later than 7 days.
