The dressing balances changing amounts of exudate and thus maintains the moisture balance for an optimal wound environment.The innovative layered construction absorbs moisture and allows it to evaporate, ensuring an ideal, moist wound environment.The 3M Tegaderm Foam Adhesive can be used as a primary or secondary dressing for low to high exuding, deep and superficial wounds.

A self-adhesive film layer serves as a protective barrier against external contaminants, including bacteria and viruses.In vitro testing shows that the transparent film provides protection against viruses with a diameter of 27 nm or larger as long as the dressing remains intact and tight.The bandage is waterproof and can therefore also be worn when showering.
