Directions for use of Magnerot N Magnesium Tablets: Magnerot N Magnesium Tablets are used to treat and prevent magnesium deficiency conditions that cannot be corrected nutritionally. It can also be used in cases of proven magnesium deficiency leading to muscle activity disorders (such as neuromuscular disorders and calf cramps). The recommended dosage is: Always take the tablets exactly as instructed in the package leaflet. The dosage depends on the severity of the magnesium deficiency. To replenish the magnesium stores, take three tablets three times a day for one week and then one to three tablets three times a day as a maintenance dose. The tablets should be taken before or with meals with liquid. The intake should last at least 6 weeks and can also be continued for a longer period. There are some contraindications to consider, such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients, impaired kidney function, cardiac arrhythmia and muscle weakness. The medicine can usually be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but it is advisable to discuss this with a doctor. Adverse effects may include soft stools, gastrointestinal complaints, diarrhoea and fatigue. A doctor or pharmacist should be contacted in case of any disturbances of well-being during treatment. The composition of one tablet comprises 286.6 mg magnesium hydrogen phosphate-3-water, 83.1 mg trimagnesium dicitrate-14-water and a total of 48.6 mg magnesium ion. Important precautions include caution in case of allergy to certain ingredients and intolerance to lactose. Store at room temperature away from moisture and the opened tin should be tightly closed. The recommended dosage for adults is three tablets three times a day as a starting dose and then one to three tablets three times a day as a maintenance dose.
