This leaflet refers to the medicine Panto Aristo, which contains the active substance pantoprazole. This medicine is used for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms such as heartburn and acid regurgitation in adults. Reflux is the backflow of stomach acid into the oesophagus, which can lead to painful inflammation. Panto Aristo blocks the production of stomach acid, thereby reducing the amount of acid in the stomach. Symptoms can be relieved after just one day of treatment, although immediate relief is not guaranteed. The recommended dose is one tablet per day, taken unchewed with sufficient liquid before a meal. It should be taken for at least 2-3 consecutive days and may be prolonged if necessary. If there is no improvement in symptoms after 2 weeks, a doctor should be consulted. Side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, sleep disturbances and skin reactions. The medicine should be kept away from heat and out of reach of children.
