PVP-Iodine-ratiopharm ointment is an antiseptic and disinfectant used for repeated, time-limited superficial application to various skin conditions. It contains the active ingredient povidone iodine and is used for cuts and abrasions, burns and scalds, infected and superinfected skin conditions, pressure ulcers and certain bacterial skin infections. PVP-Iodine-ratiopharm ointment has an antimicrobial effect and contributes to wound healing. It should not be used if you are hypersensitive to iodine or have thyroid disease or radioiodine therapy.
