Area of application

The sterile gel is used for local anesthesia and disinfection of the mucous membranes.It is suitable for various medical procedures such as catheterizations, probing, endoscopies, intubations and changing fistula catheters.The gel can also be used for ventilation and to prevent injuries to the rectum and colon.It is suitable for adults and children aged 2 and over.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

The gel contains the following active ingredients: 0.523 mg chlorhexidine digluconate, 0.294 mg chlorhexidine, 20.9 mg lidocaine hydrochloride 1-water, 16.96 mg lidocaine, 19.6 mg lidocaine hydrochloride, 0.627 mg methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and 0.262 mg propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate.Hyetellose, sodium hydroxide, 522.5 mg propylene glycol and purified water are included as excipients.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if there is an allergy to lidocaine hydrochloride 1 H2O, chlorhexidine bis (D-gluconate) or any of the other ingredients.Use is also contraindicated in cases of known hypersensitivity to lidocaine and other local anesthetics of the amide type, in cases of significant conduction system disorders and in children under 2 years of age.

Dosage

For urological use, 6 ml or 11 ml of the gel are instilled, depending on the procedure.During catheterizations, the gel is slowly introduced into the urethra after cleaning the glans and the external urethra.During cystoscopies and endoscopies, the entire urethra must be covered with the gel and anesthetized.For urethral strictures, 11 ml of the gel is also used and a penis clamp is applied.For disinfection, 6 ml or 11 ml of gel is distributed evenly on the mucous membrane.

For other applications, 6 ml or 11 ml are slowly instilled into the respective body opening or distributed onto the catheter or instrument to be inserted.It should always be used after consultation with a doctor.In children between 2 and 12 years of age, the maximum dose of 2.9 mg lidocaine hydrochloride per kg body weight should not be exceeded.

Patient information

The gel must not come into contact with the eyes as this can cause damage to vision.If you come into contact with your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water immediately.If you experience irritation, redness or pain in the eye or have vision problems, medical advice should be sought immediately.In the case of surgical or large-scale use, the doctor must decide on a case-by-case basis whether the patient can actively participate in traffic or operate machines.

Pregnancy

Lidocaine should only be used in the first three months of pregnancy if absolutely necessary.During breastfeeding, it is not known whether lidocaine is excreted in breast milk, therefore breastfeeding should not be carried out for up to approximately 12 hours after administration.
