Description of the drug

This medicine is a mineral preparation that contains the active ingredient histidine hemizinc 2H₂O.It is used to treat clinically confirmed zinc deficiencies if these cannot be remedied by changing your diet.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The preparation contains 94 mg histidine zinc 2-water and 15 mg zinc ion.The following excipients are also included: iron (III) hydroxide oxide, gelatin, indigo carmine, magnesium stearate (vegetable), corn starch, sodium dodecyl sulfate, titanium dioxide and purified water.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to histidine hemizinc 2H₂O or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for adults, unless otherwise prescribed, is 1 hard capsule once daily, which corresponds to 15 mg zinc.

If you take a larger amount, you may experience symptoms such as a metallic taste on the tongue, headache, diarrhea or vomiting.However, these symptoms resolve quickly after stopping the drug.

If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.Simply continue treatment at the intended dosage.Do not change the dose on your own or stop taking it without consulting your doctor.

Intake

The medicine is for oral use only.Take the hard capsule about 1 hour before a meal.If you have problems taking the hard capsule, you can also stir its contents into a liquid.

Notes

With long-term high-dose use of zinc (50 mg daily), copper should also be monitored in addition to zinc.If copper deficiency is caused by zinc, anemia, a lack of certain white blood cells (neutropenia) and immune deficiency can occur.
