Heparin 60.000 I.E. Heumann Creme contains the active substance heparin sodium and is used for the supportive treatment of acute swelling after blunt injuries (bruises/bruises) and superficial phlebitis, provided this cannot be treated by compression. There are some instructions that should be followed before using Heparin 60,000 I.U. Heumann cream. The cream must not be used if you are allergic to heparin or any of the other ingredients of the cream, or if you have an acute or known allergic decrease in platelet count due to heparin. When using the cream, open wounds and weeping eczema should be avoided. In case of new symptoms such as swelling and a feeling of warmth in the affected area, red and tense skin, sudden shortness of breath or chest pain, a doctor should be consulted immediately to rule out the presence of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia type II . The cream is applied thinly and evenly to the affected skin area, 2 to 3 times daily. The duration of application should not exceed 10 days. Side effects are rare and may include allergic reactions such as redness and itching of the skin. If allergic skin reactions occur, the use of the cream should be stopped. The cream should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be stored above 25°C. After opening the tube, the cream should be used within 12 weeks. Certain precautions should be observed, especially in pregnant women, nursing mothers and persons with hypersensitivity to pork protein. There are no known interactions with other medicinal products when used topically. Heparin 60,000 I.U. Heumann cream is available in packs of 40 g and 100 g.
