This medicine is an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory preparation that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and analgesics.It is used for mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, toothaches and period pains, as well as fever.Please note the specific information for children and young people.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The preparation contains 500 mg acetylsalicylic acid and 250 mg glycine as active ingredients.The following excipients are also included: cellulose powder, corn starch, saccharin sodium salt, flavorings (natural and nature-identical) and a total amount of 1 mmol sodium ions.

Contraindications

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid, glycine, other salicylates or any of the other ingredients.It is also contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity to certain painkillers, acute stomach and intestinal ulcers, pathological bleeding tendencies, liver and kidney failure, severe heart muscle weakness or the simultaneous intake of 15 mg or more methotrexate per week.The product should also not be used in the last three months of pregnancy.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The usual dose for children aged 12 and over is up to 3 tablets daily, and for teenagers and adults 3 to 6 tablets daily.The single dose can be taken at intervals of 4 to 8 hours if necessary, without exceeding the total daily dose.Do not take the medicine for more than 4 days without medical advice.

In the event of an overdose, symptoms such as ringing in the ears, hearing impairment, sweating, nausea, vomiting, headaches and dizziness may occur.If you suspect an overdose, you should contact your doctor immediately.

If you forget to take a dose, do not take more than the usual recommended amount at the next dose and continue taking it as prescribed.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine if you have hypersensitivity to other painkillers, allergies, asthma, hay fever, nasal polyps or chronic respiratory diseases.You should also inform your doctor if you are taking anticoagulant medications at the same time, have stomach or intestinal ulcers, have impaired liver or kidney function, or before operations.

Acetylsalicylic acid may increase the risk of kidney dysfunction and acute kidney failure.Patients with severe glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency may experience accelerated breakdown of red blood cells.

Side effects can be reduced by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary.If painkillers are taken long-term, headaches can occur, which can lead to repeated use and thus cause the headache to continue.Habitual use of painkillers can lead to permanent kidney damage.

In children and adolescents with feverish illnesses, the medicine should only be used on medical advice and only if other measures do not work.Prolonged vomiting can be a sign of Reye's syndrome, a very rare but life-threatening disease that requires immediate medical attention.

No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

If pregnancy is detected while using the drug, you should notify the doctor.In the first and second trimesters of pregnancy you may only take the medicine after consulting your doctor.You must not use the product in the last three months of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child before and during birth.

The active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities.With short-term use of the recommended dose, interruption of breastfeeding is not necessary. If you use it for a long time or take higher doses, you should stop breastfeeding.

This medication can affect fertility in women; this effect is reversible once the medication is discontinued.

Because of the possible occurrence of Reye's syndrome, medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid should only be used in children and adolescents with febrile illnesses on medical advice and only if other measures do not work.If the recommended dosage is exceeded, liver values may increase.If you have liver or kidney dysfunction, the dose must be reduced or the interval between doses must be extended.Long-term use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.Frequent and prolonged use can, in rare cases, cause stomach ulcers and severe stomach bleeding.Dizziness and ringing in the ears can be symptoms of an overdose.Chronic use may cause headaches, which may lead to repeated use.If taken before surgical procedures, the doctor or dentist should be informed.If signs of infection appear or worsen while using acetylsalicylic acid, it is recommended that you seek immediate medical attention.
