Instructions for use of the article Emser Salz Beutel Active ingredient: Natural Emser salt Indications: For supportive treatment by moistening, cleansing and decongesting the nasal mucosa in banal acute infections of the upper respiratory tract and chronic rhinosinusitis and as an accompanying treatment measure to accelerate the healing process after endonasal sinus surgery. Emser salt is a salt-containing local therapeutic agent for the treatment of diseases of the respiratory tract. It is used for supportive treatment by moistening, cleansing and decongesting the nasal mucosa in banal acute infections of the upper respiratory tract and chronic rhinosinusitis and as an accompanying treatment measure to accelerate the healing process after endonasal sinus surgery. Emser Salt must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the ingredients of Natural Emser Salt, have direct connections with the fluid spaces of the brain due to injuries to the nasal roof and sinus walls, or have a greatly increased tendency to nosebleeds. Special caution should be exercised in patients with marked hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract (such as bronchial asthma). Persons on a low-sodium (low-salt) diet should pay attention to the sodium content of the medicinal product. Persons on a low-potassium diet should exercise caution as the medicinal product contains potassium ions. Emser salt can be used together with other medicinal products at normal dosage. In a sodium-defined or potassium-defined diet, the sodium or potassium content of the medicinal product should be taken into account. Emser Salt can be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Emser salt should be dissolved in water and used for inhalation or nasal rinsing. The duration of use is not limited. Possible side effects are mild irritation of the nose such as tingling and burning sensations and headaches. Overdose symptoms are not known. The medicinal product should be kept out of the reach of children. No special storage conditions are required. Emser salt contains natural Emser salt as the active ingredient. It is available as a powder in sachets. Emser salt works by keeping the nasal mucous membranes moist, loosening tough secretions and promoting the transport of mucus.
