Directions for use of the medicine Vitamin B12 Depot Inj. 1500 µg: - Important information: Vitamin B12 Depot Injektopas 1500 µg is a solution for injection containing the active substance hydroxocobalamin acetate. It is used to treat vitamin B12 deficiency that cannot be corrected by diet. It should be noted that the medicine contains sodium. - Indications for use: The medicine Vitamin B12 Depot Injektopas 1500 µg is used to treat vitamin B12 deficiency, which can manifest itself in various clinical pictures, such as hyperchromic macrocytic megaloblastic anaemia and funicular spinal disease. Vitamin B12 deficiency can be caused by long-term malnutrition, malabsorption and congenital transport disorders. - Directions for use: The drug should be used according to the instructions in the package leaflet. As a rule, 1 ml of vitamin B12 Depot Injektopas 1500 µg is administered twice a week during the first weeks after diagnosis. In case of proven intestinal absorption disorder, monthly administration of 100 µg cyanocobalamin/hydroxocobalamin/hydroxocobalamin acetate is recommended. - Route of administration: The drug is usually administered intramuscularly, but may also be given slowly intravenously or subcutaneously. - Storage: The drug should be stored at temperatures below 25 °C and protected from light.
