INADINE Non-adhesive wound dressing consists of a non-adhesive woven cellulose acetate and is impregnated with polyethylene glycol, which contains 10% povidone-iodine.This corresponds to 1.0% available iodine.

Iodine is a highly effective topical antimicrobial substance that has been used clinically for wound care for 170 years.It has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity against bacteria, microbacteria, fungi, protozoa and viruses.

Mode of action

The povidone-iodine molecule offers a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity and is proven to be effective against MRSA. INADINE minimizes adhesion to the wound bed and reduces the risk of damage to granulation tissue during dressing changes.In clinical practice it has been proven to reduce pain for the patient.When povidone-iodine is released from INADINE , the color of the wound dressing changes from orange to white.The color change is an indicator of how frequently the dressing should be changed, avoiding unnecessary dressing changes compared to other wound dressings.This could improve the cost-effectiveness of the treatment.

Indications

INADINE is indicated for chronic ulcerations and can also be used to prevent infections in minor burns and superficial injuries with skin loss.

Clinical studies suggest that INADINE is also suitable for the treatment of chronic wounds, including ulcers of various etiologies, diabetic foot ulcers and pressure ulcers.

INADINE can be used as a primary dressing or in combination with other wound dressings.
