Potassium Verla is a medicine used to treat and prevent a decreased level of potassium in the blood. It contains the active ingredient potassium citrate. The decreased potassium level can lead to various symptoms such as muscle cramps, cardiac arrhythmia and acidification of the body. The dosage of Kalium Verla depends on the individual need and is determined by the doctor. As a rule, 1-2 sachets are taken 2-3 times a day during or after meals. No more than 2 sachets should be taken at one time and no more than 7 sachets should be taken per day. Potassium Verla can cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, belching, heartburn, flatulence, abdominal pain and diarrhoea. In case of overdose, life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias may occur. In the event of side effects or an overdose, a doctor should be consulted immediately. The medicine must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to potassium citrate or other ingredients, if there is a high level of potassium in the blood, if there is a lack of fluids or if certain conditions such as dehydration, impaired kidney function or adrenal cortical hypofunction are present. There is no evidence of harmful effects of potassium Verla during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use. Potassium Verla comes as granules in sachets and should be kept in the original packaging and out of the reach of children. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date.
