Directions for use of the article Calcium 1000 Dura Effervescent Tablets Calcium 1000 Dura Effervescent Tablets are a mineral preparation for the prevention of calcium deficiency and for the supportive treatment of osteoporosis. The effervescent tablets contain calcium carbonate as the active ingredient. They are dissolved in a glass of water and taken during or after meals. The usual dose is 1 effervescent tablet daily. The duration of treatment depends on the therapeutic goal and should be discussed with a doctor. There are some contraindications to taking Calcium 1000 Dura Effervescent Tablets, such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients, increased excretion of calcium in the urine, elevated calcium levels, impaired kidney function and tendency to form calcium-containing kidney stones. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking it. Side effects are rare but may cause constipation, flatulence, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, itching, hives, skin rash and increased urinary calcium excretion. In case of an overdose, hypercalcaemia (increased calcium concentration in the blood) and other symptoms may occur.
