Televis Stulln UD eye drops, 10x0.6 ml

Instructions for use for Televis Stulln UD eye drops, 10x0.6 ml

Area of application

This medicine is used locally in the eye.The active ingredient has vasoconstricting properties and leads to a narrowing of the blood vessels in the conjunctiva. It is used for non-infectious and allergic conjunctivitis caused, for example, by hay fever, dust, smoke or drafts.Accompanying inflammation of the conjunctiva in allergic diseases as well as irritation of the conjunctiva and eyelids without bacterial findings can also be treated. After superficial tissue damage to the eye has healed, it can be used for further treatment after antibacterial therapy or ophthalmological measures such as foreign body removal.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

The eye drops contain 0.6 mg naphazoline hydrochloride and 0.51 mg naphazoline. The excipients included are sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide solution, poly(vinyl alcohol) and water for injections.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to naphazoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients. It is not suitable for infants and young children under 2 years of age and should not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy.Patients with increased intraocular pressure (angle-closure glaucoma), dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa (rhinitis sicca), dry eyes (keratoconjunctivitis sicca) or damage to the cornea should not use the medicine. Its use is also contraindicated in cases of acute inflammation of the iris and other serious eye diseases.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist. The recommended dose for adults and school children is 1 drop twice daily until the symptoms of the disease subside. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 1 drop 4 times a day.The eye drops should only be used for a short time (7 days) without a doctor's order.Reapplication should only be carried out after a break of several days.In children, the duration of use should be discussed with the doctor as there is no experience with children.

Intake

For use on the eye, remove a strip of single-dose containers from a bag and separate a dose.Drop the medicine into the conjunctival sac of the eye.To open the single-dose container, twist off the top closure part.Bend your head back slightly, look up and pull your lower eyelid slightly away from your eye.By lightly pressing the lower part of the container, drip a drop into the lower conjunctival sac.Avoid touching the drip opening with your eye. After instillation, slowly close your eyes.To prevent possible side effects from infusing the eye drops into the nose/throat area, press the inner corner of the eye with a finger for 1 - 2 minutes after instillation.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when used in children under 2 years of age as the medicine should not be used in this age group.Long-term use and overdose should be avoided in children aged 2 years and over.Use in children and at higher dosages may therefore only take place under medical supervision.Patients with severe cardiovascular diseases, a tumor of the adrenal gland (pheochromocytoma), an enlarged prostate or metabolic disorders should only use the drug after carefully weighing the benefits and risks. In patients with a predisposition to increased intraocular pressure, regular monitoring is required with long-term use.Eye irritation or redness can be a sign of a serious eye disease, so an ophthalmologist should be consulted.Patients who wear contact lenses should remove them before instillation and reinsert them at least 15 minutes after instillation. The application can affect visual performance and the ability to react in traffic and when operating machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine. The eye drops must not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy.Naphazoline should not be used during the remainder of pregnancy as there are no sufficient data on possible effects on the unborn child. It should not be used during breastfeeding as it is not known whether the active ingredient passes into breast milk.
