Directions for use of UrgoStart foam wound dressing 10 cm x 12 cm: UrgoStart is a foam wound dressing with micro-adhesive TLC-NOSF-wound healing matrix® developed by Laboratoires URGO . The dressing consists of a microadhesive TLC-NOSF-wound healing matrix® in combination with an absorbent polyurethane foam dressing and a protective non-woven polyurethane backing. For application, the wound should be cleansed according to the usual care protocol. If an antiseptic has been used previously, the wound should be thoroughly irrigated with sterile physiological saline before applying UrgoStart. The wound environment should be dry. The size of the dressing can be adjusted to the wound with sterile scissors. The dressing is applied to the wound by peeling off the protective films from the microadhesive side. The dressing should then be secured with a suitable secondary dressing and a compression bandage applied if required. Dressing changes should be made every 2 to 4 days and may be left on the wound for up to 7 days, depending on the amount of exudate and the clinical condition of the wound. A minimum treatment duration of 8 weeks is recommended.
