UrgoTül Ag Lite Border is a wound dressing based on the innovative lipid colloid technology. It consists of three layers: a matrix with silver salt, an absorbent dressing and a carrier layer. Contact with wound exudates leads to gel formation and maintenance of a moist wound environment, which promotes healing. The silver ions contained have an antibacterial effect and reduce local bacterial colonisation. The dressing is flexible, conformable and prevents maceration in the wound environment. It is suitable for the treatment of lightly exuding wounds with signs of infection. However, there are contraindications, such as hypersensitivity to silver and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. The dressing should be changed every 1 to 3 days and the maximum duration of treatment is one month. Urgotül Ag Lite Border is available in a 10 cm x 12 cm size and can be purchased online.
