Duraultra N sine is a vasoconstrictor medicine for local use in the eye.It is used for non-infectious and allergic forms of conjunctivitis.It can also be used for concomitant inflammation of the conjunctiva in general allergic diseases such as hay fever, irritation of the conjunctiva and eyelids without bacterial findings, for example due to dust, smoke or drafts.Further treatment with Duraultra N sine is also possible after antibacterial therapy of the front section of the eye or after ophthalmological measures such as foreign body removal.

Duraultra N sine contains the active ingredient naphazoline hydrochloride.One milliliter of the eye drops contains 1 milligram of naphazoline hydrochloride, with one drop containing approximately 0.038 milligrams of the active ingredient.The other ingredients are polyvinyl alcohol, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment and water for injections.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.No prescription is required for this product.

Dosage

The recommended dosage for adults and school children is one drop twice daily until the symptoms subside.If necessary, the dose can be increased to four times a day.Take a strip of single-dose containers from a bag and separate a dose.To open the single-dose container, twist off the top closure part of the container.Bend your head back slightly, look up and pull your lower eyelid slightly away from your eye.By lightly pressing the lower part of the container, drip a drop into the lower conjunctival sac.Avoid touching the drip opening with your eye.After instillation, slowly close your eyes.

It is applied to the eyes.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it if you suffer from severe cardiovascular disease, an adrenal gland tumor, an enlarged prostate or metabolic disorders.Even if monoamine oxidase inhibitors or other medications that increase blood pressure are used at the same time, the drug should only be used after careful consideration of the benefits and risks.Patients with a predisposition to increased intraocular pressure should be monitored regularly during long-term use.Eye irritation or redness can be a sign of a serious eye disease, so in such cases you should consult an ophthalmologist.If you wear contact lenses, they should be removed before instillation and not reinserted until at least 15 minutes after instillation.

You must not drive a vehicle or use any tools or machines because, in rare cases, dilation of the pupils and blurred vision may occur after use.This means that even when used as intended, this medicine can temporarily affect your visual performance and thus your ability to react in traffic and operate machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.The medicine must not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy.Naphazoline should not be used during the remainder of pregnancy as there are no sufficient data on possible effects on the unborn child.It should not be used during breastfeeding as it is not known whether the active ingredient passes into breast milk.

Notes

Do not store the medicine above 25°C and store it in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.The one-dose containers are intended for single use.Any leftovers should be discarded after a single use.After opening the sealed pouch, the unopened one-dose containers have a shelf life of 12 months.Open sealed bags should be stored in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.
