Tamponade 2000 is a disinfectant medicine intended for use in the oral cavity.It consists of cotton, glycerol and the active ingredient iodoform, which releases iodine.This product is primarily used to stop bleeding and disinfect infected wounds following tooth extraction.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredient and areas of application

The active ingredient in Tamponade 2000 is iodoform.Each 100 grams of gauze contains 50 grams of iodoform.The other ingredients are cotton and glycerol.Tamponade 2000 is used to stop bleeding and disinfect wounds after a tooth has been extracted.

Application

Tamponade 2000 can only be used by a dentist.The length of the gauze strip is chosen so that the extraction wound is completely filled.The dentist ensures that the insert is completely removed, both when changing the gauze strip and at the end of the treatment.Tamponade 2000 should not be used for long periods of time and in high doses.The dentist determines the duration of use.

Side effects
